Sony has officially launched the Sony WF-1000XM6 in global markets. The new truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds succeed the WF-1000XM5 and bring several important upgrades. Most importantly, Sony claims the latest model delivers up to 25% better Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the earbuds offer up to 8 hours of battery life with ANC enabled during regular use.

Sony WF-1000XM6 Price and Availability

The Sony WF-1000XM6 is priced at $329.99 (approximately Rs. 35,500) in the United States. Customers can purchase the earbuds through Sony’s official website, Amazon, Best Buy, and other authorized retailers.

Moreover, the device comes in two premium color options: Platinum Silver and Black.

However, Sony has not yet announced the official launch date for India. Therefore, Indian customers may need to wait for further updates.

Design and Build Quality

Sony has refined the design of the WF-1000XM6. The earbuds now follow the natural curves of the inner ear, which improves comfort during long listening sessions. In fact, the company states that the new model is 11% slimmer than the previous generation.

Besides that, the earbuds carry an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to water splashes. The charging case measures 61.6 x 41.1 x 26.5 mm and weighs 47 grams, ensuring portability.

Audio Performance and Processing Power

The WF-1000XM6 runs on a dual-processor system. It includes the HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3e along with the Integrated Processor V2. As a result, the earbuds now support 32-bit audio processing, which is an upgrade over the previous 24-bit system.

Furthermore, Sony has added a newly engineered driver unit with a redesigned diaphragm. Consequently, users can expect deeper bass and clearer high-frequency sound.

Advanced Audio Features

In addition to improved hardware, the earbuds support multiple premium audio technologies:

  • Hi-Res Audio Wireless
  • DSEE Extreme
  • 360 Reality Audio
  • 10-band EQ customization via the Sony Sound Connect app
  • Head tracking and Background Music Effect

Therefore, users can personalize their listening experience according to their preferences.

Improved Active Noise Cancellation

One of the biggest highlights is the upgraded ANC performance. Sony claims the WF-1000XM6 delivers 25% stronger noise cancellation, especially in mid-to-high frequency ranges.

To achieve this, the QN3e processor works together with four microphones. As a result, external noise is significantly reduced, even in crowded environments.

Enhanced Calling Experience

Sony has also improved call quality. Each earbud includes two microphones and a bone conduction sensor. Additionally, the device uses an AI-powered beamforming noise-reduction algorithm.

Because of this technology, the earbuds capture the user’s voice clearly, even in noisy surroundings. Therefore, calls sound more natural and distortion-free.

Smart Features and Connectivity

The WF-1000XM6 retains popular features such as:

  • Auto Play
  • Adaptive Sound Control
  • Quick Access

Moreover, Sony has introduced Gemini support for hands-free voice assistance. With Gemini Live, users can engage in real-time conversations with the AI assistant.

When it comes to connectivity, Sony has upgraded the antenna system. It is now 1.5 times larger, which improves signal stability. In addition, the earbuds support Bluetooth LE Audio, ensuring low-latency audio output.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery performance remains similar to the previous model. According to Sony:

  • Up to 12 hours of playback with ANC off
  • Up to 8 hours with ANC enabled

Furthermore, the earbuds support both USB Type-C charging and wireless charging. Therefore, users get flexible charging options.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Sony WF-1000XM6 brings meaningful upgrades over its predecessor. It offers stronger ANC, improved audio processing, smarter features, and reliable battery life.

Although the India launch date is still unknown, the global release positions the WF-1000XM6 as a strong competitor in the premium TWS segment.
