Sony has confirmed the launch of its new flagship true wireless earbuds, the Sony WF-1000XM6, later this month. The new model will replace the Sony WF-1000XM5 and is expected to deliver noticeable improvements in design, audio quality, and overall performance.
Sony has not revealed the full specifications yet. However, early teasers and recent leaks point to major upgrades. The company has not confirmed an India launch so far. Still, reports suggest it may arrive a few months after the global debut.
Sony WF-1000XM6 Launch Date and Time
Sony announced on X that it will unveil the WF-1000XM6 on February 12 at 8am PT (9:30pm IST). The launch comes nearly three years after Sony introduced the WF-1000XM5 in July 2023.
Teaser images closely match leaked renders. The earbuds may launch in black, silver, and a possible sand pink colour option. Reports also suggest a more compact earbud design and a slimmer charging case.
Expected Features and Specifications
Leaks indicate that Sony may introduce DSEE Ultimate for the first time in its true wireless earbuds with the WF-1000XM6. A new MediaTek MT2855 chipset could power this feature. It should enable real-time audio upscaling and deliver improved sound quality.
Sony may also improve Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and battery life. The earbuds will likely retain an IPX4 water-resistance rating. Industry sources expect a slight price increase compared to the WF-1000XM5.
Expected Price Details
A retailer in Thailand recently listed the Sony WF-1000XM6 at THB 11,990 (around ₹34,700). In Europe, the earbuds may launch at EUR 299.99 (roughly ₹32,500). In the US, the expected price stands at $329.99 (around ₹30,200).
