BTS leader RM, known for his creativity in rap, music, and social media, is set to reveal another side of his artistry. Kim Namjoon will curate a special exhibition titled “RM x SFMOMA” at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which will run from October 2026 to February 2027.
A Glimpse Into RM’s Collection
On October 2, SFMOMA officially announced the event, stating: “For the first time, audiences will get to see RM’s private art collection and discover what inspires one of the world’s most influential musicians.” The exhibition will feature nearly 200 artworks personally selected by RM. It will include works by Korean artists, pieces from SFMOMA’s collection, and items from RM’s own holdings. RM will co-curate the exhibition with América Castillo (SFMOMA’s Curatorial Project Manager) and Assistant Curator Hyoeun Kim.
RM’s Thoughts and Vision
BigHit Music also confirmed the project, describing it as a unique opportunity for fans to understand RM’s “artistic perspective and collector’s eye.”
Sharing his thoughts, RM said:
“We live in an age defined by boundaries. This exhibition reflects those boundaries — East and West, Korea and America, modern and contemporary, personal and universal. I don’t want to prescribe how these works should be seen; whether out of curiosity or study, all perspectives are welcome. My hope is that this exhibition becomes a small but strong bridge for many.”

The Museum’s Statement
Janet Bishop, SFMOMA’s Chief Curator, commented: “Visitors will have an unprecedented opportunity to experience RM’s sensitive and profound art collection. This body of work, in dialogue with SFMOMA’s pieces, will allow us to discover new experiences and reflect on our own relationship with art.”
According to reports, RM’s private collection includes works by internationally renowned artists such as KAWS and Takashi Murakami, along with contemporary Korean artists like Lee Dae Won and Kim Jong Hak.
