Launch Event Details
iQOO will launch the iQOO 15R in India today (Tuesday). The phone joins the company’s flagship lineup alongside the iQOO 15.
Ahead of the event, the Vivo sub-brand revealed several key details. The smartphone features a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Moreover, iQOO confirmed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
The company will begin the launch event at 12pm IST. It will stream the announcement live on YouTube, so viewers can watch it in real time.
Expected Price in India
iQOO hints that the device will be the fastest smartphone under ₹55,000. Therefore, the price will likely stay below this mark.
This pricing places the phone close to rivals such as the OnePlus 15R, which starts at ₹47,999.
After launch, buyers can purchase the device through Amazon and the iQOO India online store. Additionally, the company may offer two colours: Triumph Silver and Dark Knight.
Display and Security Features
The smartphone includes a 1.5K AMOLED panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also supports up to 5,000 nits peak brightness and HDR10+.
Furthermore, the phone adds eye-care technology for comfortable viewing. For security, iQOO provides an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Processor and Performance
iQOO equips the phone with the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip built on a 3nm process. The company claims the device scores over 3.5 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark.
In addition, the handset uses a Q2 supercomputing chip and a network enhancement chip. As a result, performance and connectivity should improve.
To control heat, iQOO installs a 6.5K IceCore VC cooling system. Therefore, the phone should handle gaming and heavy tasks smoothly.
Software Support
The iQOO 15R runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The company promises four years of Android updates and six years of security updates.
Consequently, users can expect long-term software support.
Camera Setup
The device features a dual rear camera system. It includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700V primary sensor with optical image stabilisation.
Additionally, reports mention an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Therefore, the phone should handle both portraits and landscape shots.
Battery and Charging
The phone measures about 7.9mm in thickness. iQOO packs a large 7,600mAh battery inside.
Moreover, the device supports 100W FlashCharge fast charging. It also supports bypass charging, which helps reduce heat during gaming sessions.
