HYBE Expands into India: New Mumbai Subsidiary to Boost K-Pop and Spotlight Local Talent

Entertainment giant HYBE, the company behind world-renowned stars like BTS, has officially established its new subsidiary HYBE India Entertainment Private Limited in Mumbai. This marks HYBE’s fifth international hub, following Japan, the U.S., Latin America, and China.

The goal of HYBE India is to bridge India’s rapidly growing music industry with the global stage. With the mission statement “Where the voices of India become global stories”, the company aims to discover, train, and launch Indian talent to international audiences. Plans include localized audition programs, artist development systems, and promotional support for HYBE’s existing groups in the region.

In its launch announcement, HYBE stated: “India is one of the largest music streaming markets in the world, with nearly 185 million users. The explosive growth of K-pop here highlights the country’s vast potential, and we are excited to invest further.”

This move is part of HYBE’s multi-home, multi-genre strategy, which adapts its business models to local cultures while expanding its global reach. In the U.S., HYBE America launched the girl group KATSEYE, which quickly entered the Billboard Hot 100. Similarly, in Latin America, HYBE has nurtured local artists through auditions and training programs.

For Indian ARMY and music fans, this news is particularly exciting as it opens the possibility of seeing global acts like BTS, Tomorrow X Together, Enhypen, Seventeen, and KATSEYE perform live in India for the very first time. At the same time, it creates opportunities for Indian artists to become part of the global K-pop ecosystem, backed by HYBE’s proven record of transforming trainees into international stars.

By choosing Mumbai as its base, HYBE India is set to begin a new chapter in connecting Indian music with global audiences — positioning India as an important part of the next wave of the Hallyu (Korean Wave) movement.
