It is common for K-pop idols to be surrounded by fans, as they are global stars. However, there is a clear boundary between public schedules and private moments. At official events or pre-announced appearances, taking photos and interacting is natural, but outside of working hours, invading their privacy is considered disrespectful.
ARMYs have long urged each other to respect the privacy of BTS members, yet some fans continue to cross the line.
Recently, after Jin’s appearance at Milan Fashion Week, this issue resurfaced. On the 25th, when Jin went to the Gucci store to shop for clothes, a crowd of fans followed him there. While he was shopping, they surrounded him, held up phones, and began recording from very close distances.
What upset fans the most was Jin’s clear discomfort. Without makeup, he repeatedly tried to cover his face with his hands to avoid being photographed, but the crowd continued recording.
Videos of the incident quickly spread online, drawing strong reactions from ARMYs:
- “He clearly said he didn’t want to be recorded, so why keep filming?”
- “This is straight-up harassment. Respect his privacy.”
- “Delete the video. His safety and comfort are more important than your tweet.”
- “He wasn’t ready to show his face, yet you shoved a camera in front of him.”
Although Jin is famous for his flawless visuals, like any celebrity, he wants fans to see him in his best form during official appearances. Capturing him without consent in private, unprepared moments is highly inconsiderate and intrusive.

ARMYs are now urging fans to respect Jin’s wishes and avoid crowding BTS members at unofficial locations. They emphasize that true fans should understand the boundaries in the relationship between idols and their supporters.
