The craze around K-pop Demon Hunters just keeps growing. The Netflix animated movie has now become one of the most-watched films on the platform, crossing more than 236 million views. Its success is not just about the numbers — the film also created history when four of its songs entered the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 at the same time, something no artist or film had ever achieved before.
But the obsession doesn’t stop with streaming or charts. Fans are dancing to Soda Pop at weddings, Hollywood celebrities are praising it, and even BTS’ Jungkook confessed that the movie made him cry.
Meanwhile, actress Arden Cho, who voiced the fearless character Rumi in the movie, revealed that her dream is to collaborate with BTS and BLACKPINK. In an interview, she said, “Rumi is strong and fearless, the kind of girl we all want to be. I loved her as soon as I read the script.”
Arden shared that the character Rumi was inspired by K-pop idols. While preparing for the role, she thought about her idol friends, her personal journey, and the strong women she has met. But in the end, she focused on bringing out Rumi’s true personality.
Since the movie’s release, Arden Cho has been very active in K-pop collaborations. During her trip to Korea, she joined dance challenges with groups like LE SSERAFIM, ITZY, and ILLIT. She also had plans for more collabs, but due to a tight schedule, not all of them could happen.
When asked about her dream collaboration, she immediately replied, “Oh my gosh, BTS and BLACKPINK for sure! That would be epic. And aespa — I really love them too.”
Her dream might not be far from reality. On July 14, Jungkook went live on Weverse and admitted he has become “addicted” to K-pop Demon Hunters. He even sang along to Soda Pop and confessed that the ending made him emotional. “I actually cried at the end. When everyone was cheering for Saja Boys and Rumi entered the venue alone — I teared up. It was honestly very sad,” Jungkook shared with fans.
With BTS openly praising the movie and Arden Cho expressing her wish for a collaboration, fans now believe that a crossover between K-pop Demon Hunters, BTS, and BLACKPINK may actually happen. Many are eagerly waiting to see if this record-breaking animated film could lead to one of the biggest collaborations in K-pop history.
