BTS’ ‘Spring Day’ Exits MelOn Chart After 3,136 Days, Ending Its Historic Eight-Year Streak

BTS’ iconic track Spring Day has officially left the MelOn Weekly Chart, marking the end of an incredible journey. Since its release in February 2017, the song remained in the Top 100 for a remarkable 3,136 consecutive days before finally dropping out on September 15, 2025. This record of 447 uninterrupted weeks and over eight years makes it the longest-charting song in MelOn’s history.

For the global fanbase, known as ARMY, this is an emotional milestone. Spring Day was more than just a hit — it became a cultural symbol, often referred to as “the song that never leaves the charts.”

An Unforgettable Legacy

Spring Day was released as the lead single from BTS’ You Never Walk Alone album, a repackage of their 2016 Wings album. It quickly became one of BTS’s most beloved tracks. The song’s blend of alternative hip hop and pop rock ballad elements made it stand out. It won Song of the Year at the 2017 Melon Music Awards, received the Digital Bonsang at the 32nd Golden Disc Awards, and was nominated for several other prestigious awards.

Its popularity was not limited to Korea alone. The track earned four music show trophies, a Japanese version was released in 2017, and a special SoundCloud remix followed in 2018.

A Meaning That Touches the Heart

Spring Day has long been associated with the 2014 Sewol Ferry Disaster, though BTS never officially confirmed this. Leader RM once stated, “Many meanings can be drawn,” giving fans the freedom to interpret the song in their own way.
