BTS leader RM generously marked his 31st birthday on September 12 by donating 100 million Korean won each (totaling approximately PHP 8.3 million) to Seoul Asan Medical Center and Korea University Medical Center. His contribution was aimed at supporting medical advancements and improving patient care.
Asan Medical Center will use RM’s donation to help economically disadvantaged patients with treatment and surgery costs, while Korea University Medical Center plans to use the funds to enhance medical infrastructure and expand healthcare services.
In a heartfelt message, RM shared, “I decided to donate because I wanted my birthday to be meaningful and special. I hope this contribution can provide even a little relief to those who are struggling financially to receive the treatment they need.”
Also known as Kim Namjoon, RM is well-known for his philanthropic activities. It has become his tradition to give back to society on his birthday. Last year, he donated 100 million Korean won to the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs’ “Campaign to Thank Uniformed Workers.”
In previous years, RM also contributed to the Korean Society of Legal Medicine in 2023 and the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation in 2021 and 2022, supporting cultural preservation efforts.
