BIGHIT MUSIC Confirms Legal Action Against Unlawful Activities Targeting BTS Members

BIGHIT MUSIC has issued an official update on ongoing legal measures to protect BTS members from harmful activities, both online and offline.

On September 29, the agency released a statement in English, emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy against malicious posts, stalking, and privacy violations.

The statement noted that legal action has been taken against individuals responsible for harmful content, identified through fan reports and monitoring of domestic and international social media platforms such as X, Instagram, and YouTube.

BIGHIT MUSIC stated:
“This quarter, we have initiated legal action against authors of malicious posts. These individuals were identified through valuable fan reports and our monitoring of domestic online communities (Naver, Daum [Women’s Generation, Jjukbbang Cafe, SoulDresser, etc.], Nate, TheQoo, DC Inside galleries [BTS Gallery, Male Celebrities Gallery, Domestic Entertainment Gallery, etc.], Instiz, Ilgan Best, FMKorea, etc.), music sites (Melon, Bugs Music, Genie Music, etc.), and international social media channels (X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).”

The agency further added:
“Even in anonymous online spaces, acts such as defaming artists, using insulting language, or spreading unfounded rumors are punishable under the law. We are committed to using all available legal measures to protect our artists and maintain a zero-tolerance policy against illegal activities.”

Suspects are being summoned for questioning, and warrants have been executed in some cases.
“Some criminal complaints filed last year were forwarded to the prosecution in July with a recommendation for indictment. Investigations into cases filed this year are ongoing. As part of the legal process, suspects are being summoned for questioning, sometimes via warrants.”

BIGHIT MUSIC also addressed recent security incidents:
“There have been several attempted break-ins at BTS members’ homes. We are actively working with authorities, reporting incidents to the police, submitting evidence, and providing written statements. Some cases have been forwarded to the prosecution, and we will ensure that the offenders face strict legal consequences.”

“Any act of trespassing, loitering near an artist’s residence, observing a home, leaking personal information, or otherwise violating an artist’s privacy is not only punishable under law but also causes severe mental stress and anxiety to the victim. To promote a safe and healthy fan culture, we earnestly request everyone to respect the privacy and safety of our artists. We deeply appreciate the love and dedication of BTS fans and will continue to ensure the full protection of our artists’ rights.”
