Apple Announces Sixth Retail Store in India
Apple has officially announced the opening date of its second physical store in Mumbai. The new Apple Borivali outlet will open on February 26, bringing the company’s total retail stores in India to six.
On Friday, Apple also revealed the storefront barricade of the upcoming location. As a result, anticipation around the launch has increased among customers.
Previously, Apple launched its first official Indian retail store, Apple BKC, in August 2023 at Jio World Drive mall. More recently, the company expanded further by opening Apple Noida at DLF Mall of India. Consequently, Apple continues to grow its footprint in key metropolitan cities.
During the December quarter earnings call, CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the company plans to further expand its retail presence in India. Therefore, the Borivali launch aligns with Apple’s broader growth strategy.
Apple Borivali: Location and Opening Details
According to the company, Apple Borivali will open at 1:00 PM IST on February 26. The store is located inside Sky City Mall in Borivali, near the Western Express Highway.
With this addition, Apple strengthens its position in Mumbai. Notably, this expansion comes nearly three years after the launch of Apple BKC. Thus, the company continues to deepen its engagement with customers in the city.
Services and Customer Experience
The new store will offer a complete Apple retail experience. Customers can expect:
- Sales of the latest Apple products
- Convenient in-store pickup options
- Technical support through the Genius Bar
- “Today at Apple” educational sessions
- Personalized shopping assistance from specialists
- Dedicated services for business customers
Moreover, the “Today at Apple” sessions will allow users to explore devices and software features in a hands-on setting. As a result, customers can better understand how to use Apple products effectively.
Growing Retail Network Across India
In addition to its two Mumbai locations, Apple operates four other stores across India:
- Apple Saket
- Apple Hebbal
- Apple Noida
- Apple Koregaon Park
Clearly, Apple is steadily expanding its offline retail network. Furthermore, this growth reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.
Expansion Plans in Hyderabad and Chennai
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Apple may open its first retail store in Hyderabad. The company has already posted several senior-level job openings, including Manager and Store Leader roles. Although Apple has not confirmed the exact location or launch date, the hiring activity indicates active preparation.
In addition, Apple is reportedly planning a 20,000 sq ft corporate office in Chennai at DLF CyberCity, Porur. The proposed Global Capability Centre will manage key global operations. Consequently, Apple’s India expansion now extends beyond manufacturing into broader operational growth.
