Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing to expand its budget TWS earbuds lineup. Recent leaks have revealed key information about the upcoming Redmi Buds 8 Active. The details include design, specifications and expected pricing.
Reports indicate that Redmi will place the new earbuds below the Redmi Buds 8 Lite. The “Active” branding suggests a more affordable option. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the product yet. However, more information may appear soon.
Design and Colour Options
Renders shared by YTechB show a semi-in-ear or open-fit design. Unlike the Buds 8 Lite, the new model may include silicone ear tips. The stem looks similar to the Lite variant. The charging case also closely resembles it.
Redmi may offer the earbuds in three colours:
- Blue
- Black
- White
Expected Price
The Redmi Buds 8 Active could launch at around EUR 19.99 (about Rs. 2,100). Pricing may vary by market.
If the leak proves accurate, the earbuds will cost less than the Redmi Buds 8 Lite. The Lite version currently sells for EUR 22.99 (around Rs. 2,500) in Europe.
Features and Specifications
Leaks suggest a 14.2mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm. The earbuds may support the AAC audio codec for better sound quality.
For calls, Redmi may include:
- Dual microphones
- AI-based noise reduction
- Wind-noise suppression up to 6 m/s
The earbuds are also expected to support Bluetooth 5.4. Other features may include Google Fast Pair, multipoint connectivity and Xiaomi Earbuds app support.
Battery and Charging
Each earbud may pack a 37mAh battery. The charging case could include a 475mAh battery.
Expected battery performance:
- Up to 7 hours playback on a single charge
- Up to 37 hours total usage with the case
Charging should take about 1 hour for the earbuds and 2.5 hours for the case using a USB Type-C port.
