Slack Brings Native Salesforce Integration and Agentic AI

Slack has announced a significant upgrade to its platform by embedding native Salesforce interfaces and introducing advanced Agentic AI features. The move positions Slack not just as a communication tool but as a workplace intelligence hub.

Native Salesforce Integration

The platform will now directly integrate Salesforce services, including Sales, IT, HR, and Tableau, allowing users to perform tasks without leaving Slack. All of these will be powered by Agentforce, Salesforce’s AI engine, to deliver agent-driven workflows.

How AI Enhances Workflows

  • Sales: AI agents can surface insights, suggest next steps, and auto-update customer records.
  • IT: Routine employee requests will be instantly resolved, while complex cases trigger AI-created channels with full context.
  • HR: Agents can answer policy questions, file leave requests, and track onboarding progress.
  • Tableau: Conversational dashboards and live analytics can be generated on demand.

This conversational approach means employees won’t need to deal with technical complexities—AI will handle the background work in real time.

Enterprise Search API and Third-Party Connectors

Alongside Salesforce integration, Slack is preparing to launch a custom Enterprise Search API. This feature will enable organizations to securely search across internal systems and external tools within Slack.

The API will also support third-party connectors such as Gmail, Outlook, Dropbox, and Notion, with more integrations expected in the future.
