What’s Different in WhatsApp’s Latest iOS Update?

WhatsApp for iOS has received a new visual update following the recent addition of Live Photos and on-device message translation support. In the latest version, some users have noticed a revamped interface designed according to Apple’s Liquid Glass design language introduced with iOS 26. Once fully rolled out, users will see semi-translucent UI elements, smooth animations, and a redesigned tab bar reflecting the visual style of iOS 26.

WhatsApp has released version 25.28.75 on the App Store. Although the changelog is similar to previous updates—supporting Live Photos and on-device text translation—WABetaInfo reports that this version introduces the Liquid Glass UI for some iOS users.

The new visual elements are compatible with both light and dark modes, automatically adjusting transparency and background effects according to the selected theme. The update also incorporates the redesigned keyboard introduced in iOS 26, providing a smooth and cohesive user experience.

Limited Rollout for Beta Testers

Apple’s Liquid Glass design on WhatsApp for iOS 26 is currently being rolled out to a limited group of users, including beta testers. This phased rollout has been implemented to monitor performance and gather user feedback before a wider release is made in the future.
