Asus has officially confirmed the India launch of the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, which will be available from October 16, 2025. Launched earlier this year in collaboration with Microsoft, these Windows-powered gaming handhelds deliver console-grade performance in a compact and ergonomic design, powered by AMD Ryzen Z2 series processors.
Both handhelds feature a 7-inch FullHD LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, anti-reflective coating, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, providing clear and vibrant visuals with 500 nits brightness. They also support AMD Freesync Premium, reducing screen tearing and ensuring smooth gameplay.
The chassis has been completely redesigned, including updated palm rests and texturing patterns, offering better grip and comfort for long gaming sessions. The button layout remains consistent with previous Asus handhelds, maintaining familiarity alongside improved ergonomics.
The main difference lies in hardware: the ROG Xbox Ally X comes with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 processor, 24GB RAM, 1TB storage, and hall effect triggers, while the ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, and impulse triggers.
In terms of connectivity, the Ally X offers USB 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, microSD reader, and 3.5mm headphone jack, while the Ally comes with dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, microSD reader, and 3.5mm jack. Battery capacity differs as well: Ally X has 80Wh and weighs 715g, while Ally has 60Wh and weighs 670g, with both including a 65W charger.
On the software side, both handhelds run Windows 11 Home with a full-screen Xbox interface, reducing performance overhead. The AI-powered Gaming Copilot helps gamers learn new skills, chat, and get guidance during gameplay.
Pre-orders are open via the Asus website, ROG Exclusive Stores, Amazon, Vijay Sales, and authorized partners. Prices start at Rs 69,990 for the ROG Xbox Ally and Rs 1,14,990 for the ROG Xbox Ally X. Pre-order customers will receive a ROG Slash sling bag, 1-year PC Game Pass Ultimate, and discounts of Rs 1,499 and Rs 499 respectively.
