BTS Jin Sends Otogi Ramen Sales Soaring

What happens when a K-pop superstar appears on a noodle pack? For Otogi, the result was record-breaking sales.

The company announced Thursday that 13 million multipacks of its popular Jin Ramen — featuring BTS member Jin — vanished from shelves in just 50 days. The real draw wasn’t the flavor but the packaging: 12 collectible stickers showcasing Jin’s portrait, his handwriting, and Otogi’s mascot. Fans turned an ordinary noodle pack into a prized collector’s item.

Since the promotion launched in March, sales at Otogi’s online mall have surged tenfold compared to last year. Cup ramen featuring Jin’s face rose 35% in April alone, while convenience store sales more than doubled — proving that even an old, established brand can gain new life with the power of K-pop.

Building on this success, Otogi plans to roll out new cup ramen designs with updated portraits of Jin by the end of the year. To keep fans engaged, the company will also release 100,000 oversized limited-edition stickers through its online mall and select retailers. Additionally, interactive digital events and content linked to the new packaging are in the works.
