BTS’ Jungkook and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo’s friendship has always been a hot topic among fans. Being part of the 1997-liners, the two became close from the very first meeting, and over time, their bond only grew stronger. Whether it’s dining together, supporting each other behind the scenes, or making fun reels, their friendship never fails to win fans’ hearts.
As Cha Eun Woo was preparing to begin his mandatory military service, Jungkook made sure to bid him a proper farewell. Despite being in Los Angeles with BTS in July for their new album preparations, Jungkook reportedly flew back to South Korea to meet Eun Woo. The True Beauty actor officially joined the military band on July 28 in Yeoncheon.
Dinner and Restaurant Autographs
The two idols were spotted dining together at a popular restaurant. Not only did they enjoy a delicious meal, but they also left autographs for the restaurant owner. A fan later shared the heartwarming story on social media along with a photo of their signatures. That fan also revealed that before Jungkook’s enlistment in December 2023, Eun Woo had gifted him a special watch along with a handwritten letter. Jungkook was later proudly seen wearing that watch at Jin’s military discharge ceremony in June 2024.
Jungkook and Eun Woo are also part of the famous “97-liner” squad, which includes SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, The8, and DK, GOT7’s Yugyeom and BamBam, NCT’s Jaehyun, and reportedly even Stray Kids’ Bang Chan.
What’s Next for BTS and Jungkook?
After completing his 18-month military service, Jungkook reunited with BTS in June. During a Weverse livestream in July, the group announced that they would be releasing a brand-new album in 2026. Soon after, BTS flew to Los Angeles to work with international producers and composers. While the album’s concept is still under wraps, leader RM promised fans that they would see a “new BTS after military service.” Following the album’s release in the first half of 2026, BTS will also embark on their long-awaited world tour.

Apart from music, Jungkook will also return alongside Jimin in the second season of their travel reality show Are You Sure?!. The duo filmed the series in Switzerland and Vietnam shortly after their military discharge in June.
