BTS’ Suga Makes a Grand Comeback! Yoongi’s First Instagram Post in 2 Years Leaves Fans Emotional

BTS’ Suga has finally made his long-awaited return to social media — and ARMYs couldn’t be happier. On September 22, Min Yoongi shared a new Instagram post nearly two years after his last one. He completed his military service in June 2025, and his previous post was dated August 25, 2023. This marks his first upload since his 2024 DUI controversy.
In his comeback post, Yoongi shared several photos of himself playing the guitar, seemingly taken during an underground jam session. Musical instruments and boxes scattered around added to the raw vibe of the pictures. His short haircut suggested that the shots were from his military service period or shortly after. Despite posting without a caption and keeping his comments section closed, Suga managed to send fans into a frenzy — with their excitement spilling over to X (formerly Twitter).

Fans React: “Yoongi Is Back!”
The fandom was flooded with emotional messages. One fan wrote, “Finally, my star is back.” Another gushed, “Yoongi, the guitar, the haircut, the undercut, the outfit, the aura—YONGIII!” Many couldn’t hold back their tears. “OMG, this can’t be a dream,” one user posted, while another confessed, “I’m about to cry, Suga my heart.” Every reaction reflected just how deeply ARMY had missed him over the years.

Before Enlistment
After enlisting in September 2023, Suga maintained a low profile. Just a few months earlier, in April 2023, he had released his debut solo album D-Day — the final installment of his trilogy, following Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020). Unlike his bandmates, Suga didn’t release any new singles during his service. Still, fans continued to keep D-Day trending and performing well on the charts.

The DUI Controversy
On August 6, 2024, Suga faced controversy when police caught him riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol. He later issued an apology, admitting: “After drinking at dinner, I rode a scooter home. I mistakenly thought it was fine since it was a short distance, without realizing it was against the law. I bow my head and sincerely apologize to everyone.”
Unlike his fellow members, Suga completed his service as a social worker, leading to a quiet return without grand celebrations. His first public appearance came when he attended J-Hope’s Hope On The Stage concert in Seoul as part of the audience. Now, Suga is back in the studio, working alongside his BTS bandmates on their highly anticipated comeback album.
