Suga’s solo track ‘Haegeum’, part of his Agust D album D-Day released in April 2023, has surpassed 100 million views on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel at 5:07 AM on the 14th. This marks Suga’s third music video to achieve this major milestone, following Agust D and Daechwita, which have also crossed 100 million views.
The song ‘Haegeum’ uniquely blends hip-hop beats with the traditional Korean instrument ‘haegeum’. The word ‘haegeum’ carries a double meaning (奚琴 – the musical instrument, and 解禁 – ‘lifting restrictions’), highlighting the theme of freedom. The music video stands out for its artistic noir-style visuals, intense storytelling, and the dramatic conflict between the characters ‘Being’ and ‘Exister’, captivating the audience.
D-Day, the final chapter of the Agust D trilogy (Agust D, D-2, D-Day), was entirely written, produced, and conceptualized by Suga himself. The album emphasizes themes of liberation and self-identity and achieved the No. 2 position on the Billboard 200 chart.
Congratulations to Suga!
