RM Admits BTS Feels Huge Pressure Ahead of New Album After 3-Year Hiatus

On his 31st birthday, BTS leader RM surprised fans with a special livestream where he shared personal moments and openly talked about BTS’ highly anticipated comeback. He revealed that the night before, he spent time drinking with Jimin and later had dinner with V, who even made playful remarks during the live session.

RM then discussed BTS’ preparations for their upcoming album, which is scheduled for release in spring 2026. While the ARMY is extremely excited about the comeback, RM admitted that meeting the high expectations of fans after a three-year military hiatus has become a huge challenge.

“It really feels so overwhelming. Just imagine — you’re BTS, and you’ve just been discharged after three years of military service. Suddenly, you’re back in the spotlight, and everyone is already saying, ‘They must be coming back with something massive, right?’ That kind of pressure is very difficult for us too,” RM shared, explaining the challenge of returning to the stage after such a long break.

Still, he reassured fans that despite the anticipation, the members’ bond and personalities remain unchanged. “We spent two months together, worked together, but honestly, nothing has changed. We’re the same as we’ve always been,” he added.

Album Progress and World Tour Plans

RM also gave insights into the creative process behind the new album. This time, BTS adopted a fresh approach, spending two months in Los Angeles collaborating with top global producers and composers to lay the foundation for new tracks. Currently, they are finalizing lyrics and arranging the songs, while recording is scheduled as the next major step.

“After working hard with producers for two months in LA, we are now in the second half of production. Recording hasn’t started yet, but we’re focusing on finalizing lyrics and arranging the songs we’ve created so far,” RM revealed.

We are having meetings about styling, music, and overall project planning, because next year’s project is going to be everything for us,” RM explained.

This new album and world tour will mark BTS’ powerful return to the global stage, and ARMY is eagerly waiting for what promises to be an unforgettable comeback.
